MATARAM, INDONESIA – The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team has confirmed the recovery of the body of a British national, identified as Robert Peter Ladd (46), who was reported missing while diving in Gili Air, North Lombok.
The victim was located on Tuesday (March 24, 2026) at approximately 1:20 PM local time (WITA). According to the Mataram SAR Office, the body was found at a depth of 12 meters, near his initial diving location. Despite immediate emergency medical efforts, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) performed by medical teams on-site, Mr. Ladd was pronounced dead at 1:33 PM.
The victim’s body has been evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital in Mataram for further procedures. Local authorities have officially closed the SAR operation following the recovery.
